Gurgaon teen for World Youth Cup

Gurgaon youngster Mitaali Nayyar will represent the country at the World Karate Federation Youth Cup to be held in Umag, Croatia, from June 30 to July 6.

The 13- year- old is a student of Pathways Aravali Public School and trains at the Sanshinkan India Karate Centre in Gurgaon.

An ecstatic Nayyar dedicated her achievemen­t to her coach, Yashpal Singh Kalsi and other trainers at Sanshinkan India.

“I dedicate this feat to my coach Sensei Yashpal Singh Kalsi and Sanshinkan India where it’s not just about fitness but also about becoming a better human being,” Nayyar said on Saturday.

Kalsi meanwhile, was confident that his student would make the country proud at the internatio­nal level.

“At the heart of this achievemen­t is Mitaali’s continued commitment to excel in the sport and her determinat­ion to improve by regular practice.

“As a coach, I am proud of Mitaali’s achievemen­t and wish her all the success,” Kalsi said.

“I am sure that she will do well and bring laurels to the country,” he added.
