Imran tells Bilawal to declare dad’s assets

- SHAFQAT ALI

Pakistan Tehrik- e- Insaf ( PTI) chief Imran Khan has asked Pakistan People’s Party ( PPP) leader Bilawal Bhutto to declare his father Asif Ali Zardari’s assets instead of criticising other parties.

“I will accept him as a leader if he can ask his father Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about how much of their wealth is kept abroad”, Imran Khan said. The PTI chief, in his latenight speech on Saturday, said that one could not become a leader by adopting a short- cut.

Mr Khan said he did not wish to respond to the “kid’s statements” while referring to Bilawal Bhutto’s verbal attacks and hoped the PPP leader would declare his assets before the nation.

Meanwhile, PTI information secretary Shireen Mazari, in a statement, asserted that Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto would not be able to rescue the rigging- tainted PM Nawaz Sharif. “Bilawal Bhutto has no understanding of Pakistani politics and by spending billions from the tax- payers’ money he is being introduced in Pakistan”, she said.

Meanwhile, amid political uncertainty, PM Sharif is all set to expand his Cabinet. Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, the younger brother of Mr Sharif, is also considering to include some more ministers in his tea.“The federal and the Punjab governments ( led by the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz) have decided to expand the cabinets”, said a close aide of the Sharifs.
