Upen Patel, touted as the ladies man in Bigg Boss, has been keeping a low profile on the show

Theupcoming season of Box Cricket League ( BCL) will see TV actors battling it out on the pitch. A few days before the series begins, actor Karan Kundra who will be representing Kolkata Baabu Moshayes ( KBM) tells us he can’t wait for it to start. “When people are shooting for 12 hours everyday and coming for a two hour practise, it’s got to mean something! Besides, cricket is a stress buster and everybody’s in it for fun,” he says.

Although he admits that he doesn’t watch much cricket on television. “I am not a TV person. If someone next to me is watching, I’ll have a look. The last series that I watched was the World Cup.”

So what made him join KBM of all the teams participating? “Producer and owner of KBM Nivedita ( Basu) has been a part of my career from the very beginning. So when she approached me to be part of the team, I just couldn’t say no. It’s like family and fun time rolled into one.” We ask Karan how he manages to make time for anything else in an industry that is so stressful in terms of time and commitments. “Practice hasn’t begun in full swing yet. But then it’s also so recreational that you don’t realise that you’re missing out on sleep. It becomes a habit and you learn to look forward to it,” he says.

Upen Patel, touted as the ladies man in the Bigg Boss house has been rather low- key on the show. When host Salman Khan pulled him up for the same, the actor/ model confessed that a few unfortunate incidents of the past have made him a little mellow. In a conversation that wasn’t televised, the actor spoke about how his business venture ( a club in Mumbai) had to be shut down after an employee robbed him of his money. The incident he says, has led to him having trust issues.

Meherzan Mazda aka Umesh of Nisha Aur Uske Cousins had a pleasant surprise recently. The actor had gone to Indore for the show’s promotions, where he shared a hotel with his idol Shah Rukh Khan. The two had worked for a beauty product’s television commercial in the past. Much to Meherzan’s surprise, SRK remembered his name and even called out to him. “He has been my idol. I couldn’t believe that he remembered my name after all these years. He hugged me and wished me good luck. Those ten minutes spent with him made my day,” he said.
