-

New Delhi, April 1: In a major headway in the murder case of former INLD legislator Bharat Singh, the Delhi police has recovered the vehicle which was allegedly used by assailants to carry out the attack.

The SUV, a black Scorpio, was recovered from Kharkunda in Haryana which had blood stains which meant that one or more attackers were also injured in the cross fire as Singh’s PSOs had also fired in retaliation, a senior police offi- cial said. The police is now checking records of hospitals and nursing homes in the area to see whether anybody with bullet injuries was brought there.

Two to three assailants have been identified by the police and it is also being suspected that some juveniles were also part of the assailants, he added. The police believe that other than the Scorpio, two other SUVs were also used by the attackers.

The police has been conducting raids across sever- al states and hundreds of people have been questioned. Notorious gangster Rajesh Bawana alias Karambir who was arrested in November and currently lodged in Tihar was also questioned by police.

The needle of suspicion has been on two gangs who have had reasons to eliminate Singh, one is Vikas Lagarpuria and the other is Udaiveer alias Kaale and the investigation so far is indicates that the two came together for the “operation”.
