Shah set to inaugurate crucial BJP meet in Bengaluru tomorrow
The first meeting of the revamped national executive of the BJP will begin in Bengaluru from April 3, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving a valedictory address on the concluding day.
The two- day- long meet is likely to endorse two resolutions, including one where the Modi- led government’s foreign policy initiatives will also be a part.
The conclave will be inaugurated by party president Amit Shah and will have speeches by senior leaders, including party veteran L. K. Advani. The expansion of the saffron party in states where it is not strong and ways to propagate the work of the NDA government will be the main focus of the conclave. Mr Modi would also address a public rally on April 3.
Ahead of the national executive meeting, party office- bearers, along with parliamentary board members, will meet on Thursday to finalise the agenda for the conclave.
The Modi government’s achievements will also find mention in one of the resolutions along with the “political successes” of the BJP since the last Lok Sabha elections.
The political resolution is expected to highlight key political, economic and social security issues in the country and steps taken by the government in this regard.
With the government going ahead with the land ordinance after its failure to get the new bill passed in Parliament amid opposition by various parties, the BJP leadership is also expected to impress upon its members to take across the message of the government that it is a pro- farmer step aimed at ensuring all- round development of rural India and ensure progress of farmers.
The meeting would also discuss an action plan to reach out to people on the achievements of the Modi government.
The meeting would also discuss plans to celebrate next year as the centenary of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, stalwart of the erstwhile Jan Sangh, the forerunner of the present- day BJP.
