PM sends blessings to Raina for his wedding

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a congratulatory message to Team India middle order batsman Suresh Raina, who is marrying his girlfriend Priyanka Chaudhary on Friday in Delhi, according to a close friend of the cricketer.

“Raina has received a letter of blessings from our honourable Prime Minister. The invitation was sent to the Prime Minister because Raina was nominated by Modi for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

“The entire India team including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli have been invited for the wedding. We hope to see many of them including Dhoni with his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva at the function,” he said.

“An invitation is also being sent to the Chennai Super Kings.”

Priyanka has done her B. Tech from Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology in Ghaziabad whereas Raina is an Arts graduate from Lucknow University.

It was also learnt that Raina’s in- laws had invited villagers of Bamnauli village in UP’s Baghpat district where the family used to live earlier.

“We have been invited for the marriage but no invitation cards have been sent. We have been invited over telephone and some 18- 20 people from our village will go there to attend the reception,” Satish Thoimar, a Bamnauli farmer, told this paper.
