FEMALE FOREST OFFICER, HER TEAM ATTACKED

Dehra Dun: A woman forest officer and her team were allegedly attacked for trying to stop illegal mining in Rampur area of Nainital district, the police said on Monday.

Kalyani, a trainee Indian Forest Services officer, reached near Dabka river to prevent illegal mining and initiated seizing of a JCB machine. But soon a large number of people gathered there and started protesting. They also attacked their vehicles and pelted stones.
