Ballia jail staff injured in clash

Lucknow: A clash between jail inmates and prison officials on Sunday evening left one jail staff member seriously injured in Ballia district jail. The injured staffer, Ravinder Rajbhar, has been admitted to the district hospital and the jail staff refused to report for work on Monday. Trouble began when one of the inmates was allegedly manhandled by the jail officials and this led to clashes between the two groups. Additional forces have now been deployed at the jail.
