ONLINE BAR A BLOW TO JOGI PCC AMBITION

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

The AICC’s decision to deny voting rights to online members in the ensuing organi

sational elections in the Congress has dealt a severe blow to former chief minister Ajit Jogi’s bid to take

the reins of the party in Chhattisgarh. Apparently seeing a design by his rivals to keep him away from the race for the post of president of the Chhattisgarh

Pradesh Congress Committee ( CPCC) in the forthcoming organisational

polls, Mr Jogi dubbed the move as “unconstitutional”. “It is unconstitutional”, Mr Jogi said while reacting to the AICC general secretary in- charge’s announcement

that the online members would not be given voting rights. Mr Jogi had launched online membership for the party after his supporters were denied membership books by the state PCC chief, apparently to stop him from taking over the

office of PCC chief.
