FORTIFY ANTI- GRAFT

The Union Cabinet’s approval for amending the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 is a step in the right direction. The proposed amendments shall also bring the corporate sector under the ambit of corruption. The proposal to raise the minimum and maximum periods of imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years and from 5 years to 7 years will deter private and public sectors from using unfair means to expedite work.
