Johannesbu­rg: The police in South Africa say a man has been charged with his wife’s murder, days after local media reported that the heartfelt eulogy he delivered at her funeral was plagiarise­d. The police spokeswoma­n Brig. Marinda Mills said in a statement that Christophe­r Panayiotou appeared in court in Port Elizabeth on Monday. Brig.

Mills said Panayiotou was arrested last week, following

the arrest of another man also accused of the murder. A third man was also arrested. The police said schoolteac­her Jayde Panayiotou, 28, was abducted in the

coastal city of Port Elizabeth on April 21. She was shot to death. A local news site, News24, reported

that parts of the moving eulogy Christophe­r Panayiotou read at his wife’s funeral were cut and pasted from a tribute seen online and writ

ten by another man.
