-

The Delhi police’s southwest district police on Monday claimed to have solved a murder case of 12year- old boy with the arrest of a former tenant who committed the crime as the victim’s sister spurned his advances. The boy identified as Prince was strangled to death. His body was recovered from near his house a day after he had gone missing. The accused, on the other hand, has been identified as Lakhan. The police said that after receiving the complaint they started their investigations and zeroed- in on Lakhan who had stayed as a tenant at the house of the deceased a few years back. “He was put under arrest and he confessed to having com- mitted the crime,” said the police.

“He told us that he had come to Delhi about 8 years ago for pursuing his studies and started living with his sister and brother- in- law who lived as tenant at the deceased’s parents house,” the police added.

“He studied with the deceased’s sister and developed affection for her. Later on, the accused shifted to Jagdamba Vihar, a nearby locality, even as his love for the girl continued,” the police said.

Lakhan, who is a native of eastern Uttar Pradesh and appeared for his Class 12 examination, told the cops that she refused his advances and started avoiding him due to which he developed grudge against her and he decided to teach her a lesson.
