TOOTH BLING ON THE RISE
The latest entrant among haute jewellery trends is the tooth jewellery fad. Choose from sapphires, diamonds and rubies for a variety of accessories and bling away!
There are no boundaries when it comes to accessories and jewellery trends. The latest fad among stars is tooth jewellery, which might be a small addition as compared to other bigger jewellery trends but it makes a noticeable difference when the wearer poses for the shutterbugs. From icons like Katy Perry to Madonna, Lana Del Ray and Rihanna – all these girls love to flaunt gold grills and shiny stones embedded in their teeth. What started as a fad among celebrities has now reached local dental clinics in the capital and many Delhiites are opting for cosmetic procedures to flaunt a sparkling smile.
Several people including models, socialites and students have now started- showing a keen interest in this procedure, informs Dr Gunita of Den tem Dental and Orthodontic Clinic. She says, “Tooth jewellery ( like twinkles, dental gems etc.) comes in different shapes. The size and colours of these stones may vary as per the requirement too. The most popular stones these days are sapphires , emeralds, rubies , diamonds and crystals. The jewel implanted on the tooth is made up of a biocompatible material, which implies that it is relatively safe and as such no side- effects have been reported till date.”
She adds, “Getting tooth jewellery is very cost- effective and can cost between
7,500 and 10,000. It is ` `almost equivalent to a single visit to a high- end salon.”
