UP rape plea: Court order on June 5

Muzaffarnagar: A local court will pronounce its order on

June 5 on a plea seeking issuance of arrest warrants

against five persons accused of gangraping a 30- year- old woman during

the riots here in 2013. Senior lawyer Vrinda Grover

argued that the warrants against the accused should be issued as the victim’s

statement was already recorded in the court. The proceedings were recorded

in camera. Grover also demanded that the case be sent to a sessions court for

trial. Chief judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar fixed June 5 for the order in the case. On January 9, the court had rejected the closure report of SIT.
