PIL in HC against Centre notification

New Delhi: A PIL was filed in Delhi high court on Tuesday seeking quashing of the Centre’s recent notification giving the lieutenant- governor absolute powers in appointing bureaucrats in the city. The petition was mentioned before a bench headed by Justice B. D. Ahmed for urgent hearing. The petition by a law student, who has been filing PILs regularly, comes a day after the high court termed the May 21 notification as “suspect”.
