You are full, convinces e- pill

A revolutionary electronic pill that tricks you into thinking you’re full

-

A company has developed an electronic pill that convinces the stomach it is full, reports the telegraph. co. uk.

When swallowed, the pill, designed by MelCap Systems, activates an external magnet to position it in a specific spot in the stomach, either near the lower esophagus or vagus nerve – one of two nerves that extend from the brain to the abdomen.

Using a wireless transmitter, a pulse generator contained inside the capsule is activated, which generates low level electrical pulses in the gastrointestinal tract. The pulses trick the vagus nerve and brain into thinking the stomach is full.

The capsule lasts for 21 days before it dissolves and exits the stomach.

The company plans to use the pill to help combat obesity.

A spokesperson said, “The pill allows you to enjoy your food without feeling the need to overeat. The result is increased weight loss and weight control.”

“MelCap Systems is dedicated to providing medical solutions to the huge population suffering from obesity. One billion overweight people over the world are eager for a cost effective and safe device that can help them to be healthier and not have the potential risk of obesity.”
