Mr Trump, always quick to criticise his rivals, tweeted hours before Mr Sanders’ official endorsement of Ms Clinton: “Bernie Sanders, who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to crooked Hillary Clinton. He will endorse her today — fans angry!”
