Vijender Gupta receives ‘ threat call’, FIR filed

Accused called BJP leader’s PA

Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta has claimed to have received a threat to his life on the mobile phone of his personal assistant ( PA) following which a police complaint has been registered. The complainan­t, Ashish Katyal, said he had received the threat call on the evening of July 10 and the caller claimed that Mr Gupta has escaped two times, but he would not be able to escape the next time even if he enhances his security.

Talking to the media, Mr Gupta informed that he has been threatened three times so far and he will shortly apprise the police commission­er and the Union home minister of the threats to his life. An FIR has been registered with the Prashant Vihar police station.

Mr Gupta alleged that these threatenin­g calls have been made at the behest of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“I will not be cowed down by these threats and I will shortly expose another big scam of the Kejriwal government. I will continue to expose the AAP government despite threats to my life,” added Mr Gupta.

“I am 100 per cent sure Aam Aadmi Party is involved in it since I am exposing corruption of its government in Delhi. No amount of threats will stop me from exposing corrupt AAP government,” he said.

The AAP refuted Mr Gupta’s allegation, saying his party BJP has all the probe agencies under its government at the Centre that should find out the truth.

In June this year, he was threatened with dire consequenc­es through another internatio­nal call.

“Sometimes back, while I was going out from my residence situated at Pandara Park, some unknown goons tried to attack me. But I was saved due to the presence of mind of the driver,” said Mr Gupta.
