A 33- year- old Croatian national allegedly committed suicide at Aura Hotel in south Delhi’s Mahipalpur on Saturday. The police said that no suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

According to a senior police official, the deceased has been identified as Nenad Kresoja, who worked at a school in Croatia. Kresoja, who arrived in the city on a travel visa, had checked into the hotel on Thursday. On Saturday his family tried contacting him on phone, but he did not pick up despite several calls.

“The deceased man’s family then contacted a person they know in Delhi and requested them to go and check at the hotel. They went and enquired about Kresoja at the hotel. When the call made from the reception went unanswered, hotel staff was sent to the room with a spare key. The staff opened the room to see the man lying in a pool of blood,” said Nupur Prasad, additional commissioner of police
