Following the staggering performance of Sultan at the box office, the makers had invited a section of the media for an interaction. The film is Salman, Anushka Sharma and director Ali Abbas Zafar’s biggest box office hit yet. Ask the man of the moment about that and he says, “People are going to the theatres again and again to see the film, there is no bigger compliment than this.” He continues, “It is Ali, the genius, who has got me here. Because the script is his and he worked on the music too.” Salman added in jest that the music Ali rejected was better than the ones that made it to the final cut.

Speaking of how his films continue to exceed box office expectations, the superstar said that he has “just been lucky”. He also said that he does consider numbers very important but doesn’t follow them closely. “I am someone who has been there at the right place at the right time, choosing the right film, working with people who are working more on me. They take an average person and turn him into Sultan. So I have just been lucky. When my luck will run out, I will have to really start working hard on myself.” The number of projects he chooses to do these days is much lower than what he used to do in the past. “Yes, I have become very choosy. I don’t do as many films as I used to. One or two disasters have made me choosy.” At the event Salman also touched upon one of the biggest vices in the entertainment industry — piracy. Speaking of the culprits, he said, “Chor log hai. They are people who don’t want to work hard and instead make money off someone else’s hard work.” He also spoke of the need to have stricter laws against people who buy pirated DVDs. “A minister was telling me the other day that they should put Tada ( Terrorist and Disruptive Activities) on these things. I agree. Apply Tada to both buyer and the seller. We pay heavy taxes in Maharastra, so the government needs to put a stop to such practices. Even if two people are sent to jail, it can be controlled. In the south industries, this doesn’t happen.”
