COLEEN opens up about family

-

She’s been in the public eye from the tender age of 16 when Wayne Rooney launched his professional football career.

But despite the difficulties of growing up in the spotlight, Coleen Rooney says she has developed thick skin over the years and stays strong in the face of negativity thanks to the love and support of her family.

The glamorous 30-year-old star — who raises sons Kai, six, Klay, three, and oneyear-old Kit with the England captain — chatted to MailOnline about her family life and what makes her confident.

Discussing the perils of social media, Coleen revealed: ‘There’s so much criticism about how people look and their weight, but it’s never pressured me. I’m quite a strong character and I only ever do things for myself, not for anyone else.

‘From being in the public eye from a young age, that’s what I’ve learned. I’m quite confident now.

‘I’ve been lucky because me and Wayne have done it together, together we’ve (experienced) different negative things, I just think you’ve got to get on with it.’

Coleen confessed that while she does her best to rise above criticism on social media, she sometimes feels compelled to speak out and set the record straight. ‘There have been a couple of times that people have annoyed me and I have actually replied back on Twitter. Sometimes you think, I can just ignore this but then certain things do annoy you’, she said.
