Dogged Lajong take on EB

-

Shillong, March 3: Shillong Lajong will be up against table-toppers East Bengal in their I-League match on Saturday in what will be one of rigorous tests of the season for them.

Lajong have won five of their last seven games and a win over the Kolkatan side will, for the first time, set them up for a top four finish in the ILeague.

The visitors, on the other hand, are looking to create history by winning their maiden I-League title and the Shillong lajong outing assumes significance as far as fulfilling their league ambitions are concerned. Churchill look for two on the trot Vasco: After securing their second win to move out of the bottom of points table, Churchill Brothers would look to register yet another victory at home when they take on Bagan.

Churchill, who had struggled in the first phase to remain at the bottom of the table, looked a transformed side after Derrick Pereira took over the reigns in the second phase.

Mohun Bagan are currently involved in a keen tussle with East Bengal for the top spot and are three points behind the leaders. Aizawl FC aim to seal double Aizawl: Aizawl FC would look to beat Mumbai FC for the second time this season when the two sides take on each other. Aizawl, now at second spot in the league table, had scored a 1-0 win over Mumbai in their away match and now they would look to seal a double at home.

It could, however, be a challenging task for Aizawl to find the back of the net as Mumbai have not conceded a goal in their last three matches.

Ninth in the table with nine points from 11 matches, Mumbai have not been having a good season so far.
