A 36-year-old woman from Uzbekistan was allegedly beaten up and gangraped by her former boyfriend and his four friends at her rented flat in South Delhi’s Masoodpur near Vasant Kunj last Friday. The woman has alleged that she was so brutally beaten up that she fell semi-unconscious and was gangraped allegedly by the five men in the same condition.

The woman filed her complaint at the Vansat Kunj North police station on Tuesday. About the delay in lodging her complaint, the woman claimed that she was scared and traumatised and was not able to muster courage to report against the four men. On the basis of her complaint, a case under sections 376D (gangrape) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of Indian Penal Code was registered against the five men. The woman’s statement was also recorded. However, none of the accused was arrested till Wednesday night. The woman identified two of them as her former boyfriend Anubhav Yadav and his friend Gaurav Bhatia. She told the police that the other three men were unknown to her as she had not met them before. Senior police officers said that they were conducting raids to nab the suspects.

The woman in her complaint said that she was staying in the rented flat for the past six months. She told the police that Yadav was her boyfriend for the past four years. They had met each other on a social networking site and later entered into a relationship. The two started meeting each other after she came to Delhi and shifted in a rented flat in Masoodpuri. Before coming to Delhi, the woman was in Surat, Gujarat, said the police.
