The deceased, Rahul Kumar Prasad, was working as a data entry operator in the SDM’s office. His body was found hanging inside a storeroom located on the third floor of the office, police said.

On Sunday, Prasad and one of his other colleagues were called to office for work. After his colleague left early, Prasad went to the storeroom and hanged himself, police said.

Police reached the location and found him hanging inside the storeroom. A suicide note was found at the spot, but in the note he has not blamed anyone for the extreme step. It is suspected that he was under depression.

“He has mentioned about not being able to attain success in life. He has asked his brother to take care of his parents and has thanked his paternal aunt (bua) and her husband for standing with their family through thick and thin,” said a senior police officer.

In the note Prasad has also asked his brother to repay the loan he had taken from two men, though he has not specified the loan amount.

He has also apologised to his family. In the note, he has said that “everyone has to die some day or the other.”
