LUKAKU ARRESTED AFTER NOISY PARTY

-

Manchester United’s £90 million transfer target Romelu Lukaku will have to appear in an American court next season after being arrested on holiday. Everton’s Lukaku, due to be unveiled as Jose Mourinho’s major summer signing early next week, has been ordered to attend Los Angeles Airport Court House on October 2 after being cited for excessive noise at a party thrown at his rented mansion in Beverly Hills last weekend.

The Beverly Hills Police Department revealed in a statement they had been to the address five times on the same evening to warn Lukaku about the noise. The incident is a major embarrassment for the Belgium forward, 24, on the eve of his major transfer.

United said on Saturday they had agreed a £75m fee for Lukaku with an extra £15m in potential add-ons but within an hour the popular US showbiz website TMZ had revealed his trouble with the police.

Lukaku, who was on holiday with United star Paul Pogba, was due to complete a medical in Los Angeles.

United want to unveil him in the world’s entertainment capital next week.

They flew to Los Angeles on Sunday for an 18-day, fourgame US tour which includes matches against Real Madrid and Barcelona.
