RUDIGER CHILLS OUT IN LA
Antonio Rudiger is enjoying the final moments of his post-season break by spending downtime in Los Angeles with a selection of his victorious German team-mates.
Fresh from winning the Confederations Cup with a 1-0 victory over Chile in Russia last weekend, the Roma defender joined up with Emre Can, Leroy Sane and Thilo Kehrer in the California sun.
The quartet were joined by friends as they enjoyed a break from football and ventured to the popular Venice Beach.
The 24-year-old is close to a move to Chelsea after the Premier League champions agreed on a £30.7 million fee plus another £3.5m in add-ons for the centre back.
The German international is currently in talks with the Blues ahead of his proposed move.
They hope to wrap up a deal to strengthen Antonio Conte’s defensive options after the manager’s initial transfer frustration this summer.
Rudiger featured in four of Germany’s five games at the Confederations Cup where Lars Stindl’s first half goal was the difference in the final in Saint Petersburg.
The centre-back has spent two seasons at the heart of Roma’s defence having moved from Stuttgart in the summer of 2015.
