A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped and later thrown off from the fourth floor of an underconstruction building in a semi nude condition on Saturday early morning in Rohini district’s Begumpur area. In a swift action, the police has arrested the accused who was drunk at the time of the incident.

The horror came to light when a neighbour, hearing a loud thud, peeped out of the window and noticed a youth escaping from the building. He immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and carried out the probe.

According to a police official privy to the probe, the woman was found in a semi-nude condition. She was immediately taken to a hospital.

The police said that the accused has been identified as Deepak. He is a resident of Rama Vihar and is said to be working in a five-star hotel. His father works for the government. The accused, along with the survivor and two other friends, had made a plan to visit Connaught Place (CP) on Friday. Deepak left for CP on a motorcycle with his male friend and two women. However, due to strict checking, the cops stopped them and seized their vehicle. The four friends then dropped their plan and decided to go back to Begumpur.

They got into an autorickshaw and were heading home when Deepak made an excuse of fetching his car so he could drop the survivor home. While his friends went home, Deepak, on the pretext of getting the car, took the survivor to the under-construction building and forced himself on her. When the woman resisted his attempt, Deepak allegedly tore her clothes and raped her.

While resisting, the two got involved in a physical scuffle following which Deepak allegedly pushed the survivor off the fourth floor and escaped.

The Begumpur police has registered a case and is questioning the accused. Meanwhile, doctors said that the survivor is critical.
