Prohibitory orders revoked in city: Cops

The prohibitory orders clamped in the wake of incidents of arson in some parts of the capital following conviction of the Dera Sacha Sauda chief in two rape cases, have been revoked on Wednesday. But the security arrangements across the city, however, will continue, they added.

“Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC were imposed in 11 out of 13 police districts of the capital. After reviewing the current law and order situation, prohibitory orders are being revoked,” Madhur Verma, the Delhi police public relations officer said.

He said that proper security arrangements ensured that no untoward incidents were reported from the capital. However, additional forces will continue to remain deployed at sensitive locations, said Mr Verma.

Fifteen were arrested for their alleged involvement in the arson in Delhi following Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's conviction in two rape cases. Also a 23year-old man was arrested for allegedly making a hoax call about the Dera chief’s supporters creating a nuisance in northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar.
