Hard time for commuters as rain lashes city
Commuters had a hard time travelling on waterlogged roads of the capital following incessant rains that lashed Delhi on Thursday.
The city received 59.0 mm rainfall.
People were stuck in traffic jams on key stretches in south Delhi such as Moolchand, Modi Mill flyover, Pul Prahladpur underpass, Savitri Cinema flyover, Moti Bagh, Chirag Dilli and Saket.
Vehicle users and pedestrians faced a hard time in major intersections such as Ashram Chowk, Britannia Chowk, Kashmere Gate, ITO, Mukarba Chowk, Mehrauli-Badarpur road and Mehrauli-Gurgaon road.
The situation was worsened as a DTC bus broke down on Raj Nagar flyover thereby affecting traffic movement between Raj Nagar Flyover and Safdarjung.
Commuters and vehicle users took to social media to the situation.

Another user Abhi Mahapatra tweeted, "After a long time it is pouring as it should be #delhi #rains #traffic.
An office goer, Rajiv Ranjan Shukla tweeted, "Water logging at Barapulla elevated road after 10 minutes of rain @Satyendar Jain."
Asha Debbarman, a content writer at a media firm in Noida, said it took her more than two hours to reach office in the Film City Sector 16.
A senior traffic police officer said additional staff was deployed to manage the situation and reserve staff was called in to ensure that commuters didn't face a harrowing time.
