DISTRIBUTORS, BHUSHAN HAVE A FALL OUT OVER BAADSHAHO

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Reports of this week’s big ticket-releases, according to sources, are disheartening. Apparently, producer Bhushan Kumar, hosted a screening of Baadshaho for family and friends on Monday night. The film’s Mumbai and Maharashtra distributors were invited too. And the distributors reportedly did not like what they saw. Sources say there was a major argument that erupted between the T-Series honcho and the distributors. Following the discord at the first screening of the movie, all previews of Baadshaho have been cancelled. Says a source, “Now, after the response at Bhushan’s private screening, no previews of Baadshaho are to be held. The press show is this morning.” The negative reports for the movie, on top of the crippling weather conditions in Mumbai, and the violence in Haryana and Punjab over Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction spells bad news for Ajay Devgn. The actor seems to be counting heavily on this film, after the limited success of his last release, Shivaay. Emraan Hashmi too hasn’t had a hit in recent times and will be affected by Baadshaho’s fortunes. This week’s other release, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan however, carries rather encouraging reports. The film’s lead pair, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, have a success each in Bareilly Ki Barfi and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha behind them. Besides, small town rom-coms seem to be the flavour of the year. Following the discord at the first screening, all previews of have been cancelled
