The new Apple iPhones and that X factor ‘One more thing’, with that phrase, Apple paid homage to its late co-founder Steve Jobs for the 10-year anniversary of the iPhone on Tuesday when it unveiled its latest, and almost certainly the most expensive new

Apple finally unveiled its latest iPhones on Sept 12 alongside its super flagship, the iPhone X at an event held at the Steve Jobs Theater, located within the brand new Apple Park “spaceship” campus at San Jose.

The super flagship from the Cupertino based company will cost `89.900 for the 64GB variant and `102,000 for the 256GB variant. The iPhone X is called as a radically redesigned smartphone which eliminates the need for a traditional home button as found on other Apple iPhones, instead replacing the front with an edge-to-edge display.

The iPhone X will be Apple’s most expensive iPhone ever built. The phone will come in two colours, space grey and silver, and will be available for pre-orders from October 27. It will be shipped to all major markets, including India, from November 3.

“This is the iPhone X. It’s the biggest leap of forward since the original iPhone,” Apple Chief Executive Timothy D. Cook said. It would “set the path for the next decade,” Cook added.

The iPhone X is the first redesigned Apple smartphone in three years, which integrates a range of notable features, including infrared facial recognition, wireless charging and advanced camera capabilities. That’s the reason why Apple says it is the blueprint for “the future of the smartphones.”

FaceID: It is a facial scanning system that Apple implemented into the iPhone X as a biometric identity replacement for Touch ID. The company claims there is a one-in-a-million chance the FaceID can be fooled.

OLED display: The OLED panel here is dubbed as the Super Retina display and measures 5.8-inches with a 2436 x 1125 pixel resolution. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10 for video playback .

A11 Bionic Chip: It is a 64-bit super efficient processor with a new Apple-designed GPU, which has 30 percent more speed than the existing unit. It has six cores, and better performance than the A10 Fusion chip.

Dual camera: The new dual-lens 12MP module comes with a wide-angle f/1.8 aperture lens and a telephoto f/2.4 aperture lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS) for both lenses on the system.

Wireless charging: The iPhone X supports wireless charging. Apple will introduce a wireless charging mat called AirPower to charge the phone, a set or AirPods, and an Apple Watch at the same time.

Augmented Reality: Both camera units now use the new Natural Lighting effect which is introduced on the new iPhone 8, and the new augmented reality features as well.
