Sack me but fix issue: Bihar Congress chief
The crisis within the state Congress deepened further on Friday after state president Ashok Chaudhary blamed the central leadership for delay in resolving the situation.
The Congress in Bihar has been facing internal conflict ever since Nitish Kumar dumped the Grand Secular Alliance and formed a government with the BJP.
Sources say that “conspiracy to remove Ashok Chaudhary from the post of state president may cause a massive dent to party’s image in Bihar”.
Mr Chaudhary also hinted that delay by the party high command in taking decisions has been causing uneasiness among the party workers.
“The child who scored more than 90 per cent marks is being slapped by the central leadership and those who have been working against the party are being rewarded. Sack me if you have to, but resolve the crisis at the earliest,” Bihar Congress president Ashok Chaudhary said.
A large group of leaders in Bihar Congress has already given an indication that they might join hands with either the JD(U) or the BJP.
According to party insiders, the fear of rebellion within the state unit had deepened further after the JD(U) sent an open invitation to the

Congress legislators to join their party.
On Thursday, JD(U) spokesperson Sanjay Singh had said that the Congress legislators were worried about their future after the Grand Secular Alliance collapsed in Bihar. He had also claimed that a section of the state unit in the Congress want the alliance with the RJD to end.
“The JD(U) is ready to welcome Congress legislators if they leave their party,” the JD(U) spokesperson told reporters in Patna.
A faction in the state unit of the party has been opposing Congress alliance with the RJD. Several Congress legislators had earlier urged Rahul Gandhi to end ties with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is facing a string of corruption charges.
Speaking on the issue, senior Congress leader Dilip Chaudhary told this newspaper, “At this stage, we need to focus more on strengthening the party for general elections. As far as our alliance with the RJD is concerned, the party high command will take a final decision.”
