2 WOMEN PICK CONSTABLE’S POCKET, HELD

The team of Delhi police ( South) has arrested two women for picking pockets and committing other crimes. The duo who hailed from Madhya Pradesh would pass night at Musafirkha­na and commit crime in the morning.

Rachna ( 25) and Pooja ( 24), both residents of district Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, would leave for their native place after committing the crime.

However, the duo were finally caught while they had pick- pocketed cash ` 50,000 from a constable in ITBP from Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday inside State Bank of India, in south Delhi.

Police said they received informatio­n regarding pickpocket­ing at the State Bank of India, Tigri, Sangam Vihar on Tuesday. A police team reached the bank and met the complainan­t Rajbir Singh, a constable in ITBP. The complainan­t reported that he had come to withdraw cash in the bank. He withdrew ` 50,000 and stayed in the bank for other miscellane­ous work. After sometime when he checked his pocket, he found his money stolen. The police team acted swiftly and the bank manager was asked not to allow anyone to leave the premises until they find the culprits.

The team identified one lady suspect who failed to reply satisfacto­rily to the queries raised by the police. During frisking by woman constable Rekha, a sum of ` 50,000 was recovered from her possession. She was identified as Pooja. At her instance, her accomplice Rachna was also arrested from the bank premises.
