Farrow responds to NYT columnist who accused her

-

Los Angeles: Woody Allen accuser Dylan Farrow blasted a columnist for for his op- ed, in which he says that her allegations of sexual abuse against the filmmaker must be be treated with “added scepticism”.

Columnist Bret Stephens wrote the op- ed, titled The Smearing of Woody Allen for New York Times and cited an investigation into the allegations against Allen that found “inconsistencies in Dylan’s statements”.

Farrow took to Twitter to criticise Stephens and said there was more “information” available for his perusal than what he has used in his op- ed.

“If @ BretStephensNYT is interested, there is much more information he can find on my case than what he cites in his piece, some of which I have posted here.”

“To presume I invented this story & convinced myself of it is no less insulting than calling me a liar. I’ve consistently stated the truth for 25 years, I won’t stop now. It’s Stephens’ right to doubt me if he so chooses but his incredulity doesn’t change what happened that day. What it does do is make it harder for the next victim to come forward,” she tweeted.

Dylan, Allen’s adopted daughter with former partner Mia Farrow, accused the director of sexually abusing her in the early 1990s while she was a child.

She reiterated her allegations in a 2014 New York Times op- ed and other articles. She has often criticised Hollywood actors for not taking her claims seriously. Her allegations have picked up steam.
