AISHA TO MAKE DEBUT WITH JOHN Ek Do Teen, again

Jacqueline Fernandez has shot for a special number for Baaghi 2, which recreates the magic of Madhuri Dixit- Nene

Choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan has just wrapped up a special number in his forthcoming movie, Baaghi 2. And what’s most interesting is that Jacqueline Fernandez is recreating the magic of Madhuri Dixit Nene in a remake of Ek Do Teen.

While Ahmed is a choreographer himself, he approached his friend Ganesh Acharya to helm this song. Ahmed knew that Ganesh had been part of the group that danced to the original Tezaab song in the 80’ s. But before Ganesh took the job up, they both met and sought blessings from Saroj Khan.

With so much history behind the song, how did Jackkie feel about dancing to Ek Do Teen? “It’s a great responsibility I need to shoulder,” she says. “For about a month, I continuously watched Madhuri’s films and dance numbers. The more I watched her, the more respect I gained for the work she’s done for the industry. We cannot claim to recreate what this iconic number has already done. But being in the creative world, we can say we’ve tried to do our best.”

Jackkie is unperturbed in the face of comparisons that may crop up.

“There just cannot be any comparisons. Masterji ( Ganesh) has worked really hard on my expressions. I specifically remember the last six days when I was made to practice rigorously. I feel blessed and honoured to be chosen by Ahmed to match steps on this number. Or I could say it’s our tribute to this iconic number,” she smiles. Aisha Sharma, the good- looking sister of Neha Sharma, had been waiting in the wings for a big name to sign her on. And now, after an extended wait, she’s signing Milap Milan Zaveri’s next film which is being produced by Nikkhil Advani.

An insider says, “Aisha always wanted to make her debut opposite one of the Khans. She did wait for a bit, but the Khans have all been working with wellknown actresses. Aisha hasn’t found herself a place in any such film. But now, she has finally agreed to work with John Abraham in Milap’s yetuntitled film. It’s said to be a dark thriller.”

The makers of the film had been on a lookout for a heroine opposite John, and were unable to lock one in for a while. The movie is also looking for a release partner at the juncture, and were going slow on the female lead. Now that things are in place, Aisha is set to get a decent debut.
