Murderer held six hours after killing his own sister

With the arrest of a 31year- old man, the police claimed to have solved the murder of his sister whom he had reportedly killed just six hours ago.

One iron needle ( poker), two mobile phones and a Scooty were recovered from his possession.

According to DCP, Northeast, Ajit Kumar Sangla, the accused, identified as Ram Karan, told the police that he lives at his in- laws house with his brothers in- law and sistersin- law.

For the past few days, he had warned his sister- inlaw ( the deceased) many times not to talk with a boy, but she continued.

“Last night, the accused slept on the roof along with his brothers- in- law and on suspicion, came down to the deceased’s room in the midnight and found that she was communicat­ing with another person on the mobile.

When he warned her not to chat him, she started arguing with him. In a fit of rage, he punctured her neck with a poker and strangulat­ed her by hands. Thereafter, he fled taking away the mobile phone and the deceased’s Scooty, Mr Sangla added.

The police said that the murder was reported on Wednesday when a PCR call was received at Welcome police station.

A case was filed under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. After making inquiries, the police came to know that the caller’s brother in- law, Ram Karan was missing; they apprehende­d the accused who told the police that he was previously involved in the murder of his father- in- law, Nanhelal, in 2010.
