5 YSR Cong MPs resign on AP status
Five YSR Congress MPs submitted their resignations to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Friday over their demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh even as TDP members took their protests on the same issue into the Speaker’s chamber. The MPs who resigned are Varaprasad Rao Velagapalli, Y. V. Subba Reddy, P. V. Midhun Reddy, Y. S. Avinash Reddy and the party floor leader Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy.
“We do as we say! YSRCP MPs are submitting their resignations today! Challenge N. Chandrababu Naidu to make TDP MPs resign and stand united with the people of AP in their rightful demand of special category status for AP,” party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy tweeted.
