Molestatio­n case witness thrashed in West Delhi

New Delhi: A molestatio­n case witness was brutally thrashed by three persons, including two accused, in Uttam Nagar area on Wednesday evening. The accused are still at large. The victim, Mahipal ( 38), is a driver by profession. He was out for some work on Wednesday evening, when three persons obstructed his way and thrashed him. They even hit him on his head with a big stone. The victim lost his consciousn­ess owing to this. The victim, with the help of the bystanders, informed the police about the incident. He was then taken to the hospital, where he was admitted. A case under attempt to murder and other related sections has been registered based on his statement. The police said that when the victim was out for some work, accused Mannu and Sannu, along with one of their friends, obstructed his way. They brutally beat him with stones and later fled from the spot. From the statement of the accused, it came to light that he is a witness in a molestatio­n case against the two said accused. They had been pressurisi­ng the victim to change his statement. They wanted him to leave the case or face dire consequenc­es. After filing a case, the police is looking for all the accused.
