ZARDA WORTH 50L LOOTED, 3 ARRESTED

New Delhi, April 6: Three people were arrested on Friday in connection with the loot of a popular brand of zarda ( flavoured tobbaco) worth 50 lakh from Aligarh last year, police said. A total of 156 cartons of zarda was recovered from arrested accused, identified as Ashok Garg, 43, said Madhur Verma, deputy commissioner of police, New Delhi. The police personnel of Barakhamba Road police station arrested Garg from Super Bazar, Connaught Place. A country- made pistol and two rounds of bullets were recovered from the accused’s car, said the police officer. During interrogation, Garg revealed the names of his associates — Madan Lal Suryavanshi and Deepak Kumar. The duo were arrested from Mayapuri, he said. The cartons were looted from Aligarh on intervening night of August 24 and 25, and a case was filed at Delhi Gate police station .
