Pakistani firing kills Army porter
Srinagar: An Army porter was killed in alleged Pakistani firing along the Line of Control ( LoC) in Uri area of Jammu and Kashmir’s north- western district of Baramulla on Monday. The Army and police said that 37- year- old Khursheed Ahmad, a resident of Uri’s Nawa Runda who was engaged by the Army’s 4 Madras as a porter was killed after being hit by a bullet in his neck. The incident, the Army said, took place at Chaukar near the de facto border at 10.40 am. The body was later handed over to the police which in turn gave it to the family for performing last rites.
