Pak­istani fir­ing kills Army porter

Srinagar: An Army porter was killed in al­leged Pak­istani fir­ing along the Line of Con­trol ( LoC) in Uri area of Jammu and Kash­mir’s north- west­ern district of Bara­mulla on Mon­day. The Army and po­lice said that 37- year- old Khur­sheed Ah­mad, a res­i­dent of Uri’s Nawa Runda who was en­gaged by the Army’s 4 Madras as a porter was killed af­ter be­ing hit by a bul­let in his neck. The in­ci­dent, the Army said, took place at Chaukar near the de facto border at 10.40 am. The body was later handed over to the po­lice which in turn gave it to the fam­ily for per­form­ing last rites.
