NATHANIA FIRST INDIAN GIRL TO CARRY CUP BALL

Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s Nathania K. John on Friday became the first Indian girl to carry the official match ball at the Fifa World Cup when she walked in with referees ahead of the clash between Brazil and Costa Rica. Nathania, a 11year- old, is a Class VII student at Rishi Valley School in Madanapall­e, Andhra Pradesh. She made it to Moscow through a Official Match Ball Carrier programme after impressing Sunil Chhetri with her footballin­g skills. Born at in Kotagiri ( Tamil Nadu), she is equally fond of athletics and enjoys keeping track of leading sports stars in various sports.
