MURRAY’S COACH IN apparel row

-

Andy Murray says he should be all white for Wimbledon — shame about his coach, Jamie Delgado.

The Scot jokingly apologised after Delgado and hitting partner Aidan McHugh were ordered by SW19 chiefs to change or adapt their clothing during practice.

While Murray and fellow Scot McHugh were hitting on Court 14, a lady from the All England Club made her way through the crowd to deliver an urgent message to physio Shane Annun.

He immediately picked up an all- white long- sleeved top and threw it to Delgado.

The former British Davis Cup player had been wearing a white shirt with green and blue around the shoulders.

But All England Club rules are strict about what can be worn, even for practice, if players and back- up team members on any of the match courts ( as opposed to the Aorangi Park practice area).

Murray teased Delgado that his application to become a permanent member of the All England

Club — he is currently only a temporary one — would now be refused, reports the Sun.

And the Scot called after the All England Club lady, saying: “Sorry about him.”

But even after Delgado had changed, he was still in breach of regulations

The shirt he had been given had a logo bigger than permitted by the rules, so he had to take it off again and wear it inside out.
