NCP MP slams PM on women’s safety

Mum­bai: In the wake of the Haryana gangrape in­ci­dent, Na­tion­al­ist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule Fri­day asked Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi if laws that are meant to pre­vent atroc­i­ties against women were re­ally be­ing im­ple­mented. She said the PM should break his si­lence over the is­sue. A 19- year- old stu­dent was allegedly raped by three men in Haryana’s Mahendergarh district af­ter be­ing ab­ducted Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon. “As a woman, I de­mand jus­tice from the Prime Min­is­ter who speaks about ‘ Beti Pad­hao, Beti Bachao’,” Sule said in a state­ment.
