Woman dies, daugh­ter in­jured in freak mishap

In a hor­rific ac­ci­dent, a 38- year- old woman died while her mi­nor child was se­verely in­jured af­ter a drunk girl rammed her car into the vic­tim’s ve­hi­cle.

The ac­ci­dent took place on Fri­day night in West Delhi’s Pun­jabi Bagh area.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, a 22- year- old girl was driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol along with her three friends.

She rammed into the di­vider and hit two cars on the other side, which were go­ing in the op­po­site di­rec­tion.

Deputy Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice ( West) Monika Bhardwaj said that on Fri­day, at around 11.54 pm, a PCR call was re­ceived re­gard­ing an ac­ci­dent at the Pun­jabi Bagh fly­over.

Po­lice found two cars in ac­ci­den­tal con­di­tion at the said spot.

The in­jured were rushed to the hos­pi­tal, where Poonam Sar­dana ( 38) was de­clared brought dead while her 13- year- old daugh­ter sus­tained in­juries.

The ac­cused girl was ac­com­pa­nied by her friends, who fled away the spot. The ac­cused was nabbed by eye­wit­nesses.

The eye­wit­nesses recorded a video of the girl in her drunken state.
