The most expensive kitchen knife in the world, Nesmuk Jahrhunder­tmesser costs as much as it does because of its impeccable craftsmans­hip. It is made by the famous Germany- based knife makers, Nesmuk and the blade contains 640 layers of Damascus steel. The handle isn’t ordinary either for it is made out of 5,000 year- old bog oak. The ferrule is made using the finest platinum and is studded with 25 diamonds.

Featuring a blade that is n a r rowe r than a normal kitchen knife, this pricey knife helps you cut paper- thin slices. It is made with stainless steel and has a multi- layered blade. The reduced surface area helps the blade stay clean of fat and grease, so you can carve your Sunday roast without a worry!

Second on the list is a knife made by master knife maker Yoshikazu Ikeda. The blade of this traditiona­l Japanese knife is made from white steel. The blade is held together by a corian handle and the sheath features designs made using the Wajima Lacquer method.
