Trinamul, BJP now stand exposed, says Yechury
Accusing the Trinamul Congress and the BJP of being hand in glove, the CPI( M) on Tuesday said the Supreme Court order has shown both the parties their place and that they have been “sharing the spoils” of the chit fund scams.
Speaking to reporters, CPI( M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said the agenda of his party is “Defeat BJP, save India; defeat TMC, save Bengal”.
“Both corrupt parties, the TMC and the BJP, get put in their place by the Supreme Court. vMust investigate the top leadership of the TMC too, of loot. Why did the BJP wait for 5 years to investigate? To pull corrupt members into its own fold?” he wrote on his Twitter timeline.
Accusing the Trinamul Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) of being hand in glove, the Communist Party of India ( Marxist) on Tuesday said the Supreme Court order showed both parties their place and that they were “sharing the spoils” of the chit fund scam.
Asserting that he did not find anything wrong with the way the Central Bure- au of Information ( CBI) h- ad gone about on investigations into the scam, CPI( M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said that its actions could have be- en objectionable if the agency had proceeded suo motu.“In this instance, when the judiciary orders the CBI to investigate a case, the CBI’s movement in the investigation into any state or territory cannot be construed as an attack on the authority or the powers of the state government. What is objectionable is when the CBI suo motu takes action and investigate without permission of the state government. That would be a violation. That is not the case here. So it is not a issue of Centre- state relation,” he told reporters here.
