Cognizant ropes in Vodafone man as new CEO

The American- Indian tech firm Cognizant Technology Solutions has announced a few top- level management changes on Wednesday along with its fourth quarter numbers.

Under the new arrangemen­t, Francisco D'Souza, its Chief Executive Officer since 2007, will relinquish the role and become Executive Vice- Chairman while Brian Humphries, currently CEO of Vodafone Business, which has about 12 billion euros in sales globally, will replace D'Souza from April 1.

In the last 12 years, D’Souza was instrument­al in growing Cognizant’s revenues from $ 1.4 billion in 2007 to $ 16.4 billion last year. The Kenyan- born Indian American entreprene­ur and businessma­n who co- founded Cognizant along with Lakshmi Narayanan will serve as full- time executive VC to help the transition until June 30. Post that, he will stay on the board as ViceChairm­an, said the company.

Humphries joined Vodafone from Dell where he was President and COO of its Infrastruc­ture Solutions Group.
