Transfer orders of 4 Kerala nuns revoked

-

Kottayam, Feb. 9: In a huge relief to the four Kerala nuns who demanded rape accused former Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal’s arrest last year, the church authorities on Saturday cancelled their transfer orders.

“We have received a letter from the new bishop of Jalandhar stating all the transferred nuns can remain at the Kuruvilangad convent till the case is over,” said Sister Anupama.

The four nuns were last month handed transfer orders. They were witnesses in the case against the bishop who was accused of sexually assaulting a nun repeatedly between 2014 and 2016.

They sought Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s intervention in the matter, but decided to organise a protest as nothing happened.
