AGAINST DEMOCRACY

The Supreme Court has, in oral observations, asked Ms Mayawati to reimburse public money worth around ` 1,200 crore spent on erecting statues of herself and the elephant, her party symbol, at Noida Memorial Park during her tenure as UP CM. This is a welcome statement. The state exchequer is being depleted to promote personal and party agendas even while so many villages in our country do not even have potable drinking water, or roads and electricity, for that matter.
