Cou­ple ar­rested for dup­ing in­vestors of ` 30cr

A cou­ple, de­clared pro­claimed of­fend­ers in over a dozen cases, was ar­rested by the Delhi po­lice for cheat­ing people to the tune of ` 30 crore. The ar­rested duo were iden­ti­fied as Vinod Bansal ( 57) and his wife Preeti Bansal ( 56). They are also wanted in three cases, pend­ing with CBI, and one with EOW of Delhi Po­lice. Dur­ing a check on pro­claimed of­fend­ers, in­for­ma­tion was re­ceived that CBI had reg­is­tered a case on Jan­uary 29 against the hus­band- wife duo who are pro­fes­sional cheaters and were wanted in sev­eral cases across In­dia, said DCP ( south) Vi­jay Ku­mar. The duo were ar­rested from Ghazi­abad on Sun­day af­ter tech­ni­cal sur­veil­lance was mounted and sources were de­ployed. Vinod, a na­tive of Bhatinda, dis­closed dur­ing in­ter­ro­ga­tion that he was ar­rested in a CBI case of “Group Hous­ing Scam” and re­mained in cus­tody for sev­eral months. He fur­ther dis­closed that he was again ar­rested in 2016 along with his wife in sev­eral cases of cheat­ing but was re­leased on bail. He and his wife jumped the bail and never ap­peared in courts, po­lice added.
